How to be sure you are going to Heaven....
God has given us a book, the Bible, which is filled with instructions for life! First, we must consider
the Ten Commandments. Ask yourself, have you ever told a lie?
Have you ever stolen anything? Have you ever used God's name to curse?
These are some of God's commandments that, when broken, will seperate you
from God, because God is holy. God cannot tolerate sin, because He is just.
Imagine for a second that you went to court for one of these sins, and God was the judge.
Would He find you innocent or guilty? the Bible says that we will all be judged for
the sins we've committed. "So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God" (Romans 14:12)
Do you think that by God's standards, Being a just, righteous and holy God, that you would go to heaven or to hell?
Don't despair...... God made a way that you can be right with Him...
Approximately 2000 years ago, God sent His son into the world to atone for your sin. A perfect, sinless man, to take your place. If Jesus took your punishment in court, justice would be served and you could walk free. His punishment was a cruel suffering and death on the cross.
He did this because He loves you. "For God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)
Then He arose from the grave- defeating death!
You can't earn eternal life, it is God's free gift to all who humble themselves and come to Jesus. "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
He will forgive your sins and cleanse you from all unrighteousness!
"...if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature..."
(2 Corinthians 5:17)
